Palácio da Bolsa

The Palácio da Bolsa in Porto is a stunning example of 19th-century neoclassical architecture and a must-visit for anyone exploring the city. Originally the stock exchange, this ornate building is renowned for its opulent Arab Room, adorned with intricate Moorish-inspired details that transport visitors to another era. The view from here of Porto was also one of my favorites!

Café Majestic

This iconic café is renowned for its opulent Belle Époque décor and offers a classic breakfast menu featuring pastries, eggs, and coffee. It’s a bit of a Porto institution, perfect for a leisurely start to your day.

Clérigos Tower

Dominating Porto’s skyline, the Clérigos Tower offers breathtaking views of the city. This iconic Baroque bell tower, designed by architect Nicolau Nasoni, provides a stunning panoramic vista from its summit. Climbing the 225 steps to the top might be a bit of a workout but the rewarding views of Porto’s terracotta rooftops, the Douro River, and beyond are well worth the effort. The adjacent Clérigos Church, with its ornate interior, is equally impressive and complements the tower’s grandeur. A visit to the Clérigos Tower not only offers spectacular vistas but also a glimpse into Porto’s rich architectural heritage.

Ribeira District

Enjoy a leisurely walk along the Ribeira Quay, where you can admire the colorful, medieval buildings and the bustling riverfront. It’s a perfect spot for people-watching and taking in the atmosphere of Porto. One of my favorite pastry shops in Porto, Confeitaria do Bolhão is a delightful gem that perfectly captures Porto’s culinary essence.
